Rising 18,008 feet above sea level, Mount St. Elias stands proudly in the Wrangell–St. Elias mountain range along the U.S.–Canada border between southeastern Alaska and the Yukon Territory. As the fourth-highest peak in North America, it has long been a symbol of Alaska's rugged beauty, adventure, and rich history. St. Elias Brewing Company is proudly owned and operated by brother-and-sister team Zach Henry and Jessie Kolesar, who were raised in Sterling, Alaska. Although they each spent time living in the lower 48, Alaska eventually called them home. In the summer of 2008, they opened the doors to St. Elias Brewing Company with a simple goal: to create a place where great food, handcrafted beer, and genuine hospitality come together. Today, Zach and Jessie continue to operate the brewery alongside an incredible team of dedicated managers and employees who keep St. Elias thriving year-round. We believe the Kenai Peninsula is one of the best places in the world to live, work, and play. We're proud to serve our community by offering handcrafted ales, exceptional food, and a welcoming gathering place for both locals and visitors alike. The History Of Mt. St. Elias In 1741, Danish explorer Vitus Bering, sailing in service of the Russian Empire, first sighted the Alaskan mainland. The towering peak that greeted him was the mountain now known as Mount St. Elias. Because the sighting occurred on the feast day of Saint Elias, Bering named the surrounding area in the saint's honor. In time, the mountain itself came to be known as Mount St. Elias. Like its namesake, St. Elias Brewing Company celebrates Alaska's spirit of exploration, resilience, and community. Our menu features rustic pizzas and sandwiches baked to perfection in our stone-fired pizza oven, creating the authentic flavor and crisp texture that makes them a guest favorite. We also offer gourmet rice bowls, mountain-sized salads, panini sandwiches, soups, and decadent desserts. We are committed to using the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, ensuring every dish reflects our passion for exceptional food and uncompromising quality.
Our on-site brewhouse is dedicated to crafting exceptional ales using premium grains and hops sourced from around the world. St. Elias Brewing Company proudly serves our handcrafted beers exclusively at our restaurant—you won't find them on tap anywhere else. Our 7-barrel brewhouse also produces our house-made root beer and cream soda.
In addition to our handcrafted ales, we offer a selection of red and white wines, refreshing wine margaritas, spritzers, and ciders. We also feature a variety of gluten-free beverage options, making it easy for everyone to find something they'll enjoy.
Take your favorites home with you! Our handcrafted beer is available by the pint in-house, or to go in 16-ounce four-packs and 64-ounce growlers.
